My Must-Have LYCON Waxing Products as a Salon Owner

After years of working in the beauty industry and running a salon, I've learnt that good waxing isn't just about finding a wax that removes hair.
It's about the whole experience.
The right products, the right preparation, knowing which wax works best for different areas, and — probably most importantly — having a technique that makes your client feel comfortable and confident.
Over the years, I've tried different waxing products, but LYCON has always been one of those brands I come back to. What I like most is that you can build a complete waxing system around it. You don't have to use the same wax for every client or every part of the body.
And if you've ever had a client with very short, stubborn hair that just doesn't want to come out, you'll know exactly why having a few different options in your wax room is so important!
So, if you're a salon owner or beauty therapist looking to build your LYCON waxing range, these are some of the products I would definitely have on my shelf.
1. LYCOdream Hybrid Hot Wax
If you're looking for a versatile hot wax, LYCOdream is a great one to have in your salon.
I particularly like having a wax that can work across different areas because it keeps things simple when you're busy. LYCOdream is suitable for areas such as Brazilian, underarms and facial waxing, making it a really useful all-rounder.
It's especially handy when you're dealing with shorter hair, where you want good grip without having to go over the same area repeatedly.

2. LYCOjet Hot Wax
Every therapist has that one client whose hair seems determined to stay there!
This is where I find having a more specialised wax really useful.
LYCOjet is designed for short, stubborn hair, and it's particularly handy for areas like brows and the face. It's also great for those little hairs that can be left behind after the main waxing service.
For me, this is one of those products that might not be the first wax you use in every treatment, but when you need it, you really appreciate having it there.

3. LYCOtec Film Wax
For more delicate areas, I like having a film wax available.
LYCOtec is designed to be applied thinly and is particularly suited to areas such as the Brazilian and underarms.
One thing I've learnt over the years is that not every client has the same skin or hair type. Some clients can happily have a treatment with one wax, while another client may respond much better to a different formula.
That's why I don't believe in having just one wax and using it for everything.

4. A Good LYCON Strip Wax
When you're waxing larger areas, strip wax can make the treatment much quicker and more practical.
Think legs, arms, backs or chests. These are the areas where you want to be able to work efficiently without using more product than necessary.
I like having a reliable LYCON strip wax in the salon for exactly this reason. It allows you to cover larger areas quickly and makes a big difference when you're doing back-to-back appointments.

5. LYCON Lycotane Skin Cleanser
Here's something I always tell newer therapists: don't rush your preparation.
It can be tempting, especially when you're running behind, to quickly wipe the area and get straight into waxing. But good preparation is such an important part of the treatment.
Lycotane Skin Cleanser helps prepare the skin before waxing by removing surface oils and residue.
It's a simple step, but it's one I wouldn't skip.
A good waxing treatment starts before you even open the wax pot.
6. LYCON Pre-Waxing Oil
This is another product I like having close by, particularly when I'm doing hot waxing.
A small amount of pre-wax oil can help create a barrier between the skin and the wax while still allowing the wax to grip the hair.
The important part is a small amount.
You don't want to cover the skin in oil — that's a recipe for the wax not sticking properly! Just a light layer is enough.
It's one of those little techniques that becomes second nature once you've been waxing for a while.
7. Tea-Tree Soothe
Once the waxing is finished, I don't consider the treatment over.
Your client's skin has just been through a treatment, so I always like to finish by giving the skin some attention.
Tea-Tree Soothe is one of my go-to finishing products after waxing. It helps leave the skin feeling clean, fresh and cared for.
And honestly, I think these finishing touches matter.
Clients remember how their skin feels when they leave your salon — not just whether the hair has been removed.
8. LYCON ingrown-X-it
If you offer regular Brazilian, bikini or body waxing, you'll eventually have clients asking about ingrown hairs.
It's one of the most common concerns I hear from waxing clients, so I think it's important to have an aftercare solution that you can recommend.
The LYCON ingrown-X-it range is designed specifically around ingrown-hair care, with products including the Solution, Foaming Gel, Cream, Wipes and X-it Mitt.
I also think this is a great opportunity to educate clients.

If I were setting up a waxing room from scratch, I wouldn't buy every product in the range straight away.

That's why I prefer having a small selection of really good professional products rather than trying to make one wax work for every situation.
And it's not just about the wax itself.
Your preparation, temperature, application, removal technique and aftercare all work together to create a good waxing service.
When you get all those little things right, the treatment becomes smoother, more efficient and much more comfortable for the client.
And that's ultimately what we're trying to achieve as therapists.
Not just removing hair, but giving the client a treatment where they feel comfortable, looked after and confident enough to book their next appointment before they even leave.
Because that's what keeps clients coming back.
